A postpartum doula provides non-medical, in-home support for new families in the weeks after childbirth – helping with newborn care, infant feeding, and the parents’ physical and emotional recovery. Our doulas serve new parents in Toronto, Scarborough, North York, and Vaughan.

Doula Packages and Pricing
Postpartum doula at The Mom Loft starts at approximately $55/hour. Flexible packages include newborn care, feeding support, postpartum recovery, and in-home visits. A one-hour consultation is $100, and your first phone call is free.

One-Time Consultation
- A one-hour session, in person or virtual, to answer your questions about pregnancy, delivery, and recovery before you commit to a package.
Consultation + Ultrasound
- A one-hour session covering your pregnancy and delivery questions, plus a fetal well-being ultrasound at our Toronto centre.
Postpartum Only Package
- Two home visits (up to 2 hours each) with your postpartum doula, plus one in-office visit. Covers newborn care, feeding, and recovery for new parents.
Pregnancy, Birth & Full Postpartum Doula Package
- Six prenatal visits (about 12 hours) plus labour and delivery care. You also get 5 postpartum visits (20 hours of daytime or overnight care, at home or in hospital).
Second Trimester Package
- Two prenatal visits (4 hours) plus labour and delivery care. Includes 3 postpartum visits (12 hours covering feeding, infant sleep, and newborn care).
Third Trimester Package
- Two prenatal visits at Weeks 34 and 38 (4 hours) plus a fetal health ultrasound and full labour and delivery care. Includes 3 postpartum visits (12 hours of newborn care and recovery).
Labor and Immediate Postpartum Package
- Labour and delivery care plus 3 postpartum visits (1–2 hours each) covering newborn care, feeding, and early recovery, at home or in hospital.
What Does a Postpartum Doula Do?
Postpartum doulas protect your physical recovery and your emotional wellness so you feel cared for, not stretched thin. We rebuild your strength, plan your recovery, and recognize the early signs of postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety, so you reach help before things worsen.
In the first weeks, postpartum doulas teach you, hands-on, how to bathe and soothe your baby, burp and feed, swaddle, and read your baby’s hunger and sleep cues. We help new parents bond with their newborn and enjoy this time with confidence.

How much does a postpartum doula cost in Toronto?
A postpartum doula starts at $480, and full packages run from $1,050 to $1,750. Single consultations cost $100, and the first call is free. We also offer reassurance ultrasounds at our Toronto centre – something most providers do not.
Does OHIP cover a postpartum doula?
OHIP does not pay for these services, but some extended health plans and health spending accounts may. We provide invoices formatted for insurance so Toronto families claim what they’re eligible for.
Is hiring a postpartum doula worth it?
For most new parents, a postpartum doula sharply lowers stress in the early weeks. You get hands-on newborn care, feeding help, sleep coaching, and a steady presence during the most demanding stage of parenthood.
What is the difference between a postpartum doula and a birth doula?
A birth doula guides you through labour and delivery. A postpartum doula cares for you after the baby arrives – newborn care, feeding, recovery, and overnight rest. We offer both.
What is the 3-3-3 rule for postpartum?
It’s a simple recovery pace: about 3 days in bed, 3 weeks on the bed, and 3 months taking it slow. A postpartum doula helps you follow it by handling newborn care and the house so you actually rest.
