FAQ
When should I see a lactation consultant? Two key times. A prenatal consultation in the third trimester prepares you for the first 48 hours after birth. A postnatal consultation within the first one to two weeks catches latching, milk supply, and pain issues before they become entrenched.
What is an IBCLC? An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is the gold-standard credential for breastfeeding support. Certification requires thousands of hours of supervised clinical experience and passing the international IBLCE exam. It is the credential pediatricians and hospitals refer to.
Do you offer at-home visits? Yes. At home lactation consultant visits are available across Toronto, Markham, Etobicoke, North York, and the surrounding GTA.
Do you offer prenatal breastfeeding classes? Yes. Alicia offers prenatal breastfeeding classes and prenatal consultations for expecting parents who want to prepare before baby arrives.
